It's all changed now

The landing stage has sunk so there is a temporary one in place, the Port of Liverpool building is having a makeover, the're building a canal across the Pier Head, there's a new Cruise ship Terminal along the river front and cranes aplenty with the Museum of Liverpool and the Mann Island developments that will appear in front of the cathedral. It will never be the same again.

Taken a few years ago, you can see the contrast with this view taken last year. It will look even more different in a years time.

The ferry waits but not the tide.
Blue-jerseyed men shout “Gangway Clear!”
We’re chugging away
Away from the Pier.

You do these so well, Les. I'm always in love with your HDR look, as you know.
Les Auld: Thanks Ginnie, I just really like taking photographs around Liverpool.

Ditto what Ginnie said, Les. You do these types of shots very well!
Les Auld: Thanks for the compliment Kay, a pleasure to post them.

There is something about this shot that makes me feel like it belongs in an old movie - it has a dated feel that goes back far more than just a few years.
Les Auld: Thanks Jewlya, almost timeless but you can just see the modern influences at the Pier Head.

And there is a man with a blue jersey to the right.

The water is somewhat choppy right now, but it will smooth out again.
Les Auld: Just managed to capture the boatman Louis. thanks for the comment.

Good sharp photo Les taken from the ferry I presume?

All things must pass...

George Harrison ;o)
Les Auld: Yes indeed it is the ferry, the only constant is change.
The last time I was here was in 1975 when we went to the Isle of Man for the Manx Grand Prix. Thanks for the memory Les.
Les Auld: My pleasure Brian. I had left Liverpool in 1969 so I don't have many memories from then.

Wonderful photograph, Les. I feel as though I am actually on the boat (and now I`m feeling ever so slightly queasy lol! ) (:o)
Les Auld: Thanks Roz, it was a bit up and down as it left the landing stage.

Hmm, do you think it's changing for the better?

And do you think the council will ever stop tinkering with Liverpool, it changes every single time we go there!
Les Auld: There are changes for the better but not everyone agrees with them. I doubt that there will ever be a time of peace and tranquility though, the council will always find a road to dig up.
