photoblog image The Irish Boat at Twelve Quays

The Irish Boat at Twelve Quays

An early morning start for many as lorries and trucks embark on the Irish Ferry bound for Dublin, leaving on the morning tide from the Twelve Quays ferry terminal in Birkenhead.

From first monk-steered ferry
To great ocean liner
Via car ferry and Sea Cat
What sight could be finer
Than Liverpool's lifeblood
Murky and grey?

The Liverpool Saga 800 lines for 800 years, written by the people of Liverpool.

Makes me wonder how these big boats stay upright, they always look top heavy. Lovely picture, love the lights and also the general composition
Les Auld: Thanks Ellie, they don/t seem to have much below the water line, an act of faith maybe.

Beautiful, Les. I love the lights, the water, and this boat. Very nice twilight shot.
Les Auld: Thanks Kay, it was actually early morning but difficult to tell the difference.
