Sunflower

It is cold, wet and miserable here in Southport so I thought a bright sunflower would be a cheering sight on such a day.

There are quite a few fields of sunflowers growing in the surrounding area during the summer, this is just one of them, bought from a roadside flower stand of course.

Now THAT is a greeting card if ever I saw one, Les! It certainly does the trick!

A cheery shot indeed - just in from taking photos in the rain so totally fed up with the wet. Getting very biblical around here - Oxfordshire. Might all have to rush to Blackpool soon, as the tower will be the only bit in the UK left above water!
Les Auld: Feels like that in the lowland areas around here as well, thanks for the comment Mike.
Nice sun ray for a dark day like the one we have today. Thanks Les
Les Auld: Appreciate the comment Richard.
This has cheered me up...I'm p....d off with all this rain
Les Auld: Join the merry throng Bill, it is right dismal but thanks for the comment.
Exquisite, Les. A perfect capture, rich in detail and colour.......so badly needed on this very grey weekend. I really like the square crop, and the frame is perfect, too. (:o)
Les Auld: Thanks Rosalyn, I really like square crops for flowers, I think it suits the subject well.

This seems like a mirage, given the dreadful gloomy weather we're suffering. A cheery sight indeed.
Ingrid
Les Auld: Thanks Ingrid, if I can but cheer one person up it has not been in vain.
