Whats the time....

.... It's Guinness Time!

Seen around Liverpool, a tribute to the famous Irish Porter.

Beer! It is only water, really, with stuff in it.
Isn't it? and most of what is in it is yeast,
which is practically a medicine and
definately a food. In fact, when you think
about it, beer is only a kind of runny bread.

LOL at Terry Prachett! I bet a lot of people use his logic. smile

I like your collage of Guinness ads, Les. Well done!
Les Auld: Thanks Ginnie, I certainly try to consider his views on life.
Great montage/collage .. Can't stand the stuff myself but the Guinness adverts over the years have been brilliant. richard
Les Auld: Must agree with you Richard, very rarely drink the stuff myself but love the adverts. Thanks for the comment
Beautyful collage of these ads Les. Well done
Les Auld: Thanks for the comment Richard.

Like coffee is flavoured hot water, etc. Have been having my thoughts about this - but am still drinking me beer and coffee tongue

Great presentation.
Les Auld: Thanks Louis, I do agree, keep taking the flavoured waters.
I recognise the one on the left but I have not seen the others. Great idea Les.
Les Auld: Strangely enough I can't remember where the left hand one is, the one on the right is in Matthew Street, the middle one is n New Brighton and the pub is in Tithebarn street. Thanks for the comment.
Very striking collage. So difficult to get these balanced...and this one is just perfect. Cheers! (:o)
Les Auld: Thanks Rosalyn, took a bit of balancing to get it just about right.

I absolutely admire Terry Pratchett, he manages to make the mundane ridiculous by his truly inspired use of words.

Like the montage too, looks good
Les Auld: Thanks Ellie, the full Pratchett Canon is on the shelf above me as I write this, inspired as you say.

Great idea Les. I remember as a kid they used to have a Toucan Guinness clock at the Devon County Show.
Les Auld: Thanks Bill, I remember the Toucan, one of the great advertising ideas.

If you visit Dublin you should take a tour of the brewery while you can...there's speculation they're thinking of selling the 20 acre site in the city centre. Did you know, Guinness isn't black...it's ruby red. Shine a torch through it.
Les Auld: I once had a tour around the outside of the brewery, never could find the time to go inside though. Thanks for the comment David.
