Risen Christ

Dame Elizabeth Frink sculpted the bronze "Risen Christ" which stands above the west door of Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral. When it was unveiled there was a mixed reaction to it and with typical scouse humour was dubbed "Frinkenstein"

*grin* Only the Liverpudlians would say that!

This reminds me a bit of how "different" Gaudi's Christ is at the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Les.

"Born to die' is also a phrase I often heard growing up on Christmas Day. Born to die to live again!

The holiest and most joyous of Christmases to you and yours.
Les Auld: Thanks Ginnie, different is not neccessarily bad, just different.
A Merry Christmas to you Les
Les Auld: Thanks Richard, hope you had a good one as well.

Les thats a nice capture of a really awful sculpture. Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. Wishing you all the best for the holiday season.
Les Auld: Thanks Aussie, he does look a bit strange, but then here in Liverpool we do have a few strange sculptures around. Hope you had a good Christmas.
