photoblog image Sunrise over the Gormleys

Sunrise over the Gormleys

I thought that I would get up early and go into Liverpool to catch the sunrise behind the Liver Buildings but as I was driving there I could see that the sun would beat me to the Pier Head so I took a quick diversion to Crosby to catch it on the beach. One of the Gormleys was kind enough to pose for me in front of a sky full of colour. By the time I got to Liverpool I had missed the picture I originally wanted, the moral is "get up earlier"

The sky is amazing Les.
Les Auld: And I thought I would miss it, thanks Aussie
Love this one, Les. Sky is TOO good!
Les Auld: Thanks Dave, I just had to take loads of pictures of it whilst I had the chance.
I certainly think the detour was a success. This is fabulous, Les. Love the way the ripples in the sand are reflecting the pattern in the sky. (:o)
Les Auld: Can't agree more Rosalyn. luckily the tide was out as well.

Very clever shot here, Les! I love it...so pretty. If I didn't know what a Gormley is, I would have thought this was an alien in a human's suit. grin
Les Auld: Thanks Ka, appreciate the comment.

I don't think you could have gotten it any better than this, Les! And with the Gormley, it's magnificent.

The cloud pattern and the sand pattern almost match. Excellent composition and use of colours and patterns. I know it was there, but you had to organise a best picture out of it.
Les Auld: Thanks Louis, sometimes things come together and they did that morning.
Lovely capture of a fantastic sunrise Les.
Les Auld: Thanks Bernie, apprecaite the comment.
Fantastic sky Les and a terrific shot overall.
Les Auld: Thanks Bill you just have to make the best of what is there.

A stonking stunner Les, well worth getting up for. The relationship between the rippling sand and the rippling sky is a bonus. I can't imagine the Liver would have been any better than this. But there is always tomorrow.

Full marks for making the effort, it is something I think about frequently!
Les Auld: I think about it frequently as well Alistair but rarely act upon the thoughts, thanks for the comment.

Such a delight to see - even better for you on the beach. Gorgeous shot Les.
Les Auld: It was a cold morning as well, so I was a bit distracted and did not see it all untill I looked at the pictures, thanks for the comment.
