photoblog image North Pier Kiosks

North Pier Kiosks

The tide was in so I couldn't get down to the beach to take the picture I was after so I was forced to look for something else and saw these two kiosks close by the North Pier. Closed unfortunately as I just fancied a Giant Eclair and a cup of Blackpool coffee.

I thought the colour version was a bit boring so I processed and tri-toned it, in Photoshop this time.

I have just found out that some of the images posted here over the last year have now been published on the Liverpool Daily Post web site,

http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/videos-pictures/pictures-of-liverpool/best-of-liverpool/2007/11/15/les-auld-s-images-of-merseyside-100252-20114384/

Quite pleased about that really. (For some reason the insert link pop-up is not working properly so I had to insert the whole link by hand)

Wow. Congratulations is right, Les. You're famous! smile

I also like the perspective on this. Good angle and processing.
Les Auld: Thanks Ginnie, only almost famous, and only in my own house I think.

Well done to you Les thats fantastic news.

Love this memory shaking shot. Not been to Blackpool for years.smile
Les Auld: Thanks Tracy, appreciate the comment, glad to shake the memory.
I like the shot Les and the treatment, fancying a hot waffle myself owink

Checked out the Echo - congratulations so nice to get recognition for your work. well deserved, although they ommitted my personal favourite HMS Manchester moored in the docks.
Les Auld: Thanks Mike, the Echo only wanted 9 images so I had to be ruthless. Glad you like the image.
Ooh well done, Les - good to see you pictures are being taken seriously. I love this one, by the way. The processing is just great. (:o)
Les Auld: Thanks Rosalyn, I must admit to liking this as well.
Nice shot. Almost looks like an infrared shot the way that everything's glowing.
Les Auld: Thanks Peter, a bit of Diffuse Glow helps with the appearance.

Oh that's a nice shot Les. Fantastic mood, winters coming and the pier is closed / in hibernation.
Les Auld: Thanks David, the loneliness of the seaside resort in winter, good subject for a series as well.
Oh that's a nice shot Les. Fantastic mood, winters coming and the pier is closed / in hibernation. Congrats on your celebrity in the Liverpool Daily Post. That must feel great.
Les Auld: Thanks again David, I must admit to a modicum of pleasure about the daily Post.
Very nice old aspect - Thumbs up !!
Les Auld: Thanks Zeb, that was the intent so I am pleased you agree.
Nice shot Les. I like the tri-toning - it has worked really well. Congratulations on getting your work published.
Ingrid
Les Auld: Thanks Ingrid, appreciate the comments and the congratulations.
Nice treatment Les. Not surprised your stuff is in the paper. You must be falling over other shutterchancers in Blackpool!
Les Auld: Thanks Bill, Blackpool is the resort of the moment.
Stunning! If (if) I had one criticism (dare I?) its simply regarding the tiny specks top right - can't figure out if its distant birds or just some, well, specks!? Anyway, congrats on this and all your other images which are inspirational. Mike
Les Auld: Thanks Michael, criticism is fine, we get nowhere without it. The specks are a cloud of starlings roosting around the pier. I would probably clone them out for a competition.
