Great pic. So what would that agreement in his hat be all about?
Les Auld: Thanks Louis.

One of the reasons for the English Civil War was parliamentary reform and a group of London radicals prosed a document called "The Agreement of the People" which called for universal male suffrage, reform of electoral boundaries, power to rest with the Parliament which was to be elected every two years (by the people), religious freedom, and an end to imprisonment for debt. Many soldiers in the New Model Army subscribed to this and carried copies of the document around with them.
I like it! He looks as though he is taking it very seriously. (:o)
Les Auld: They do enjoy themsleves after the crowds have gone though, they tend to camp for several days and carouse late into the night.
Well caught. When I see these kind of things, I'm afraid I always think 'what induces grown men to don silly clothes and spend the whole day on some godforsaken battleground site?' I suppose it might be some deep-seated desire to be an actor and be someone else for a few hours! Or is the chance to play with some real, live weapons?

Les Auld: Thanks Ingrid, interesting factoid - over fifty percent of the musketeers in the Sealed Knot are women, as are many of the cavalry and they really throw everything into it.
If you want to get ahead get a hat! Nice candid portrait Les.
Les Auld: Thanks Bill, appreciate the comment.
