This is like the train in the Harry Potter movies. It is almost like it is appearing from a dream smile Great picture and conversion.
Les Auld: Afternoon mist, thanks Louis.

Love it. The rock wall, scenery and B&W all combine to make it look like another era.
Les Auld: Thanks Aussie, time does not move very fast in Rawtenstall.
Great shot Les. Takes me back to my childhood on St David's Station in Exeter. Ian Allen book in hand, hoping a King would be pulling the Cornish Riviera Express.smile (It was nearly always a Castle)
Les Auld: I konw what you mean Bill, my favoutite spot was Chester station along with what seemed like hundreds of others, waiting for a castle or a King (very rare). I wish thought that I still had thee old Ian Allen books from the sixties.

Very old style. It is funny that shots like this one are still available today.
Les Auld: The Heritage Railways like to keep the scenery timeless just for us photographers. Thanks Martin.
This looks like something from a black and white film. This is good stuff. grin
Les Auld: Appreciate the comment, thanks.
Now I know I havn't got this crossed off in my Ian Allen book!
Les Auld: Niether have I unfortunately. Thanks for the comment David.

Great, great. I like this!
Les Auld: Glad you do Jose, thanks.
Hi Les - great shot and I like the "past-times" feel given in the processing (I assume there was some processing). I am suffering from heritage railway withdrawal symptoms at the moment as illness kept me away from the West Somerset Railway's Autumn Gala - so no new images of steam for me to post. Hopefully I can get to the event in late December. Mike
Les Auld: Thanks Micheal, the heritage lines give plenty of scope for past-times feel. I know what you mean about withdrawal symptoms, this year I have only been to three steam galas, missed quite a few good ones according to the steam press.
