Going for a punt

The late afternoon sun shines on the gardens at the back of Clare College whilst a punt passes by on the River Cam. The trees are turning to their autumn colours and the gardens looked grand.

During the few hours I was theer around the river in Cambridge the punt traffic was very high and it was impossible to take a photograph without one or more punts getting in the way. So I settled for this as a compromise.

That really looks like something from a previous century.
Les Auld: Perhaps because it is, I think probably back to he 17th Century but not too sure. Thanks for the comment Martin.
Lovely balanced composition and seductive colours- the reflections look worth a pic of their own! Did you grab one?
Les Auld: Unfortunately no, I don't always see the obvious, must look closer next time. Thanks David.

The first thought I had was how the autumn colours match the buildings. The punt brings extra interest to the picture and I would say it is a plus.

Great picture and composition.
Les Auld: True, it adds a bit of life to the left hand corner, I feel better now for not cloning it out. Thanks Louis.
Very nice picture. I like the composition and the lighting
Les Auld: Thanks for stopping by, appreciate the comment.
