More Fireworks

I know I said the fireworks were not too good this year, here, but I thought I would give them another chance. So I put a few of the better images together to see what they looked like, and this is the result. This is the type of display that I had expected, and saw last year.

Lots to celebrate here, Les!
Les Auld: Thanks Ginnie, everyone has told me that it was much better on the venings I was not there, but I suppose that's life.
Beautiful ! A great choice of lens and shutter speed !
Les Auld: Thanks Zeb, this was the first time I had used the 10-20mm lkens in real anger, missed quite a few with it as well as it hunted focus a lot.

bob on les.
Les Auld: appreciate the comment Mick.
This is from a contemporary description of a firework display held at Versailles by the Sun King: ‘a thousand fireworks emerged from the middle of the water which, as if furious and escaping from a place where they had been held by force, scattered to every side of the parterre. An endless number of further fireworks left the mouths of the lizards, the crocodiles, the frogs and the other bronze animals around the fountains, seeming to go to the aid of the first ones, flinging themselves into the water in the form of many serpents, sometimes separately, sometimes joined together like great balls of string, having an angry quarrel .’

Not so good? Well, I quite like them... Maybe that's a side effect of my last New Year Eve spend in Paris - no fireworks AT ALL!!! Incredible but true, staying under Eiffel Tower all for nothing...
Anyway, I really like your photo, you managed to capture them really well!
Les Auld: Thanks Monica, hope you manage to overcome the side effect of Paris before the next new year. Glad you liked it.
