The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds has one of it's major sites at Marshside, just to the north of Southport. The edge of the reserve is literally 50 yards away from where I live.
At this time of year thousands of geese arrive from Iceland, most of them seem to fly directly over my house making geese type noises from dawn to dusk. Skeins of Pink Footed geese mostly at the moment flying to and from their roosts in the salt marshes, and we still get some magnificent sunsets over the North West Coast of England.
