Evening flight from LJL

A Boeing 737 of Ryanair departs from Liverpool John Lennon Airport as the sun sinks between the ancient standing stones of Garston Riverside, erected last year but they seem to have been there for thousands of years.

Great shot - especially the slight clouds caught in the light of the departing sun. Great mixture of earthbound and a skybound silhouette.
Les Auld: Thanks Louis, right time right place I suppose.
What an interesting picture - I'm not usually that keen on sunset shots but this image is lifted out of the ordinary by the subject matter. For me it is the silhouette of the man that makes the shot - he looks so small and insignificant next to the standing stones.
