And I bet they did their practice in exactly the same way back then, Les!

I love that they're all women, which was probably NOT true back then?! This is a lovely capture, Les, and well-cropped and framed.
Les Auld: Thanks Ginnie, appreciate the comment. Drummers tended to be young-ish boys in the French army of Napoleon, I don't think they were an equal opportunities employer back then.

Hear my drum rapapapam - and here we have little drummer girls.

Great picture and composition. This timeless picture has atmosphere - I can imagine that a scene like this could be seen way back then.
Les Auld: Thanks Louis, agree it could well be 1812 not 2007.
Looks like the girls really enjoy reinacting the battle. Shugborough hall is only a cock stide away from me.Love the shot Les.
Les Auld: Thanks Tracy, I think everyone enjoyed the event, but especially those taking part.
I am glad you posted this shot especially that I am reading from some time Bernard Cornwell books about Sharpe. Action takes place during Napoleonic war so your shot allowes me picture some characters! smile
Les Auld: The whole series of Sharpe books is on the wall tothe back of me now, quite a good read. It was good to see the Napoleonic re-enactment, I have a few more to post over the comming days.
