photoblog image Car Ferry Sunset

Car Ferry Sunset

There was a ship breaking business on the banks of the River Meresy for many years just past Garston Docks. I think it went out of business in the late 1990s and this car ferry has been quietly rusting away ever since.

Les, nice picture! The ferry looks lonely and broken, as the sun sets on the horizon (and what a nice sunset it is). I like this shot.
Les Auld: Thanks Kay, it is a bit lonely there on the banks of the Mersey, gently decaying away.

It's kinda sad, Les. Those of us in our Sunset Years can relate, for sure. It' really a powerful pic.
Les Auld: Thanks Ginnie, I wonder if that is why I keep taking pictures of sunsets, something to do with advancing age.
Lovely picture Les, Beautiful sunset.
Sun setting - all very poignant - nice capture.
Les Auld: Congratulations Bernie on yout 100th image, and thanks for the comment.

Les Auld: In reality the area is a bit of a dump, but sunset can improve the worst of areas, thanks for the comment Mal.
