Todays shrimpers no longer use horse and cart, the diesel engine has taken over. Tractors and Heath Robinson machines have taken over. There are only a few left now, this is just one of them on Birkdale beach.

They are intriguing machines, peculiar to this bit of coast. They just seem to use tractors across the other side of the Ribble and around Morecambe bay.
Les Auld: There is not many of them left now, mainly old tractors here as well. Thanks for the comemnt.
Like that, agricultural engine are sometime so photogenic - Wonderful composition !
Les Auld: Never thought of it as an agricultural engine - harvester of the seas- sounds good. Thanks for the comment.
